West Whittier: Man Armed With Knife Dead After Being Shot By Deputies

10.06.2019 | 10:45 PM | WEST WHITTIER – A man armed with a knife was dead after being shot by deputies, Sunday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a man armed with a knife in the 8200 block of Rexall Avenue in unincorporated Whittier around 10:45 PM.

Deputies arriving on scene located the man who reportedly charged at them while armed with a knife.

A deputy-involved shooting ensued and the suspect was fatally wounded.

Firefighter paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man deceased.

An investigation is ongoing.
