West Covina: Vehicle Slams Into Semi-Truck Trapping Driver

11.08.2019 | 3:05 AM | WEST COVINA – A driver that slammed into a big-rig was trapped in their vehicle and had to be freed by firefighters, early Friday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a semi-truck on the eastbound I-10 Freeway near West Covina Parkway around 3:05 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a black Chrysler 300 sedan that clipped the rear of a semi-truck trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters used the jaws of life and other power tools to free the trapped driver before transporting them to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
