Walnut: Violent Crash Splits Car In Half, Kills Driver

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a tree near the intersection of Amar Road and Heidelberg Avenue around 11:20 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a solo vehicle that had collided with a tree and was split in half.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene from obvious trauma.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash including the potential role of street racing.
