VW Beetle Destroyed by Fire | National City

04.28.2022 | 4:15 AM | NATIONAL CITY – The male driver of the 1967 Volkswagen Beetle saw smoke coming from the engine compartment as he was driving northbound on the I-805.

He pulled onto the Sweetwater Rd exit as flames started to come from the rear.

He was able to stop and get out of the vehicle safely.

Firefighters arrived but could not save the car and it was destroyed.

The off-ramp was closed for over 40 minutes.
