Volkswagen Slams Into Front Yard Of Home | San Diego

04.25.2022 | 7:47 AM | SAN DIEGO – The female driver of the Volkswagen Jetta failed to make the left-hand turn from Arroyo Lindo Ave onto southbound Hidalgo Ave and went across the street and an SDG&E transformer junction box. Witnesses said they heard the crash and then an explosion. The driver then backed up and went forward, crossing the street and leaving the roadway again. The car went through a fence and then into a house, punching a hole in the house and taking out a water line. The neighbors went running out and helped the female driver (60’s) from her car. She was not injured but badly shaken. Power is out to at least 9 homes until repairs can be made according to SDG&E. The house that got hit will be having its water line repaired.
