Vermont Square: Pedestrian Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver

08.28.2019 | 1:26 AM | LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver who fled the scene without stopping to render aid, early Wednesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in near the intersection of 51st Street and Normandie Avenue in the Vermont Square area around 1:26 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a male down between to vehicles who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle.

Firefighter paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim but were unable and pronounced the man deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate the driver that struck the pedestrian fled without stopping to render aid.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
