Vermont Square: Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of South Figueroa and West 51st streets in the Vermont Square area around 9:42 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a pedestrian down in the roadway suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

Firefighter paramedics arriving on scene rendered immediate aid but ultimately pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian was uninjured and cooperating with law enforcement.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
