Vermont Square: Officers Clash With Citizens After Woman Shot In Her Face

05.01.2020 | 11:55 PM | LOS ANGELES – A clash between officers and citizens broke out after a woman was shot in her face, late Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting with victim down near the intersection of West 52nd Street and Vermont Avenue in the Vermont Square area around 11:55 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a female victim down suffering from a gunshot wound to her face.

Firefighter paramedics treated the woman on scene before transporting her to an area hospital in unknown condition.

During their response officers encountered a group of citizens believed to be friends or family of the victim who ambushed the scene.

The officers formed a scrimmage line and detained one person while they pushed back the growing crowd.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remains under investigation.
