Vermont Square: Officer-Involved Shooting Leaves Suspect Injured

07.26.2019 | 9:40 PM | LOS ANGELES – An officer-involved shooting left a suspect injured, Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a large crowd gathering in Vermont Square around 9:45 PM.

Units arriving on scene attempted to contact two black males who they believed to be armed but both suspects fled on foot into a nearby apartment complex in the 4700 block of South Budlong Avenue.

Once inside the apartment complex courtyard one of the suspects  pulled out a handgun prompting an officer-involved shooting.

Firefighter paramedics transported the suspect to an area hospital in stable condition.

It was unclear whether the second suspect was apprehended.
