Vermont Square: Driver Strikes Hydrant Causing 50-Foot Geyser
08.23.2020 | 9:11 PM | LOS ANGELES – A 50-foot geyser shot in to the air for about 15 minutes after a crash sheared a fire hydrant, Sunday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a fire hydrant at the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Brighton Avenue in the Vermont Square area around 9:11 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a vehicle that had struck a fire hydrant causing it to shear.
A 50-foot geyser shot into the air for about 15 minutes until firefighters shut off the flow of water.
The driver was uninjured and remained on scene.
