Ventura: Suspected DUI Crash Leaves Passenger Dead

07.18.2020 | 2:03 AM | VENTURA – A suspected DUI crash left a passenger dead, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision on the northbound US-101 Freeway just north of Telephone Road around 2:03 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a Ford Mustang on its roof down an embankment.

Firefighters rescued a passenger in the vehicle and transported them to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Mustang refused to perform field sobriety tests and was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
