Ventura: Pier Closed Amid High Surf

12.17.2018 | 10:00 PM | VENTURA – The Ventura Pier was closed to the public due to a high surf, Monday night.

Authorities closed the pier after several pilings snapped during a period of high surf.

The area was closed indefinitely out of an abundance of caution as the high surf was expected to last into Tuesday night.

The extent of damage the pilings was not immediately clear.

No injuries were reported.
