Ventura: Man In Wheelchair Struck By Hit And Run Driver

03.14.2019 | 10:32 PM | VENTURA – A man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run driver struck him while he crossed at an intersection in his wheelchair, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a man down near a wheelchair at the intersection of South Garden and East Main streets around 10:32 PM.

Units arriving on scene located the 64-year-old male lying in the roadway suffering from moderate injuries. The man’s wheelchair, which he requires for mobility, was destroyed in the collision.

Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in stable condition.

The driver that struck the man never stopped to render aid and fled the scene.
