Ventura: Man Found Beat To Death In Roadway

11.03.2019 | 1:22 AM | VENTURA – A man was dead after being found beat to death in the middle of a street, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Ventura Avenue and De Anza Drive around 1:22 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a 35-year-old male down in the roadway suffering from major injuries.

Firefighter paramedics pronounced the male victim deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate that the man was assaulted and succumbed to his injuries in the roadway. It is not believed he was struck by a motor vehicle.

No suspect description or motive was immediately available.
