Ventura: Juvenile Bear Spotted Roaming Local Neighborhood

06.04.2019 | 12:00 AM | VENTURA – A young brown bear was spotted roaming local streets, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a small bear roaming the streets near the intersection of Poli and Santa Rosa streets around 12:00 AM.

Units arriving on scene were initially unable to locate the bear but a photojournalist in the area came across the animal and updated them with the bears location.

Prior to the arrival of authorities the bear again fled into the backyard of a residence and could not be immediately located.

Ventura County Animal Services and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife were notified of the sighting and were responding to the area.
