Ventura: Hit & Run Crash Leaves Woman Seriously Injured

06.01.2019 | 12:30 AM | VENTURA – One man was in custody after fleeing from the scene of a crash that left two people hospitalized, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a crash with two vehicles down an embankment off the northbound I-101 Freeway just south of Main Street around 12:30 AM.

As officers arrived on scene a male, later determined to be the driver of one of the involved vehicles, fled from the scene on foot but was quickly taken into custody.

Firefighter paramedics treated a male subject and a female passenger from one of the vehicles on scene before transporting them to area hospitals. The female victim was reported to have serious injuries.

The driver that fled from officers along with another passenger were taken into custody however the circumstances surrounding their arrest and the crash remain unclear.

The incident is under investigation.
