Ventura: Firefighters Rescue Dog That Wandered Off During Walk

06.05.2020 | 10:15 PM | VENTURA – A dog that wandered off and fell during a walk with his owner was rescued by firefighters and reunited, Friday night.

Authorities responded to reports of an animal rescue involving a dog that had fallen down a barranca  near the intersection of Tyler Avenue and Pierce Street around 10:15 PM.

Crews arriving on scene met the dog’s owner who reported his black lab had fallen down the barranca after wandering off during a walk.

Firefighters located the dog and initiated a hoist-rescue operation to bring the canine to safety.

The operation was successful and the dog was rescued without injury before being reunited with his owner.
