Ventura: Firefighters Battle Homeless Encampment Fire
02.24.2020 | 1:41 AM | VENTURA – A quarter-acre was scorched after a homeless camp caught fire, early Monday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a brush fire burning near the Santa Clara River in the 3700 block of East Harbor Boulevard around 1:41 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a homeless encampment burning with explosions heard.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and contained the fire to a quarter-acre.
No injuries were reported but the cause of the fire is under investigation.
