Ventura: Fire Breaks Out At Homeless Encampment

06.23.2020 | 12:19 AM | VENTURA – A fire broke out at a homeless encampment in dense brush, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a fire at a homeless encampment located in the 3300 block of Ventura Road around 12:19 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a fire burning at a homeless encampment at the bottom of the Santa Clara Riverbed.

Crews extinguished the fire which was burning in dense brush in about 45 minutes.

No injuries were immediately reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
