Ventura: Female Critically Struck While Crossing Street

03.24.2019 | 1:25 AM | VENTURA – A woman was critically injured after being struck while crossing a street, Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported traffic collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and Telephone Road around 1:25 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a female down in the crosswalk not breathing and immediately initiated CPR.

Firefighter paramedics arriving on scene took over resuscitation efforts and transported the woman with CPR in progress to an area hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the woman remained on scene and was being administered field sobriety tests by officers.

The area was cordoned off while officers investigated the circumstances surrounding the crash.
