Ventura County Sheriff Shoots Man With Knife and Bow & Arrow

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6:50am 06-30-24
LOCATION: Avenida De Los Arbolas at Erbes
AREA/CITY: Thousand Oaks
DETAILS:

1. A deputy attempted to stop a man with a knife near the above intersection
2. The man walked away from the deputy going westbound thru traffic with a knife and what appeared to be a bow and arrow
3. The man made an unknown move which promoted deputies to open fire of roughly 5 shots
4. The deputies took the man into custody and provided medical assistance until paramedics arrived at the scene
5. Paramedics transported the man in his 30s to Los Robles trauma center with multiple gunshot wounds to his back
6. Incident is ongoing and remains under investigation
