Ventura: Arsonist Caught In The Act By Officers

08.03.2020 | 11:37 PM | VENTURA – An arsonist was caught in the act by officers responding to reports of a fire, late Monday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a man setting fire to a building in the 2800 block of Sherwin Avenue around 11:37 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a man covered in coconut oil next to the fire and took him into custody.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and found the building was also vandalized.

An investigation is ongoing.
