Vehicles Stuck As Snow Storm Hammers Mountain Towns | San Bernardino Mountains

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1:00 AM | 1.16.23 LOCATION: San Bernardino Mountains CITY: Various DETAILS: The conditions in Arctic Circle on Highway 18 are about as close to blizzard like that you can get in Southern California. Footage shows some vehicle were absolutely buried to the roof in snow, others partially buried. It will likely be several days at the least before the owners can retrieve their vehicles. The snow berms left by the snow plows in some areas were taller that a large pick up truck in some areas as seen in some of the footage. The snow fall itself was jaw dropping and very dangerous for motorists to be driving in. Arctic Circle is the stretch of Highway 18 the runs between Snow Valley Resort and Big Bear A cold powerful storm continues to slam the San Bernardino Mountains leaving atrocious snowy road conditions that has left dozens of motorists stranded and some forced to abandon their vehicles. The snow level has dropped dramatically with people reporting snow in some of the higher parts of Crestline. Meanwhile all of Lake Arrowhead and above has been pounded relentlessly. Snow plows are making could use of the night time to keep the roads somewhat in order but many streets that are none major high ways remain unplowed. Throughout the day and night, a large number of drivers can be seen trying to put on chains in the middle of the highways causing massive back ups and even some traffic collision.
