Vehicle Strikes Traffic Light Pole Killing Driver

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the Huntington Beach Police
Department (HBPD) responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of
Brookhurst Street and Bushard Street involving a white Toyota 4-Runner.
Upon arrival, officers located the driver of the 4-Runner, a 35-year-old male from
Anaheim, deceased at the scene.
Based on the preliminary investigation, the 4-Runner was traveling southbound on
Bushard Street and left the roadway north of Brookhurst Street. The vehicle struck a
traffic light pole.
The collision investigation is ongoing and being handled by the HBPD Multidisciplinary
Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or
