Vehicle Smashes Thru Guardrail Off Freeway

LOCATION: EB SR-78 & Industrial
AREA/CITY: San Marcos
DETAILS:

1. At around 2:17 CHP received reports of a vehicle crash on the eastbound 78 near Twin Oaks.
2. On arrival, first responders located a vehicle that had crashed on the freeway and ended up crashing through a guard rail and a fence & ending up on city streets.
3. The driver of the vehicle was trapped and required a lengthy extraction.
4. The driver was freed from the vehicle and transported to a trauma center In critical condition.
5. The cause of the crashe is unknown at this time, but CHP is Investigating.
