Vehicle Plows Into Crowd During Riverside Fight Killing One

At approximately 12:39 a.m. on May 24, 2026, Riverside Police received numerous calls reporting a large fight in the street near the 3500 block of Franklin Avenue in Riverside.

According to investigators, a vehicle intentionally drove into multiple people involved in the disturbance.

One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two additional victims were transported to Riverside Community Hospital in critical condition, while a fourth victim was also hospitalized for treatment.

Authorities were able to identify and detain a suspect, and the vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident was later recovered.

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours as evidence was collected and streets remained shut down.

The investigation remains ongoing.
