Vehicle Flies Off Freeway Killing Passenger

At around 2 AM reports of a traffic collision came in to 911 on the WB 78 west of Las Posas.

First responders searched the area and located a Nissan GTR that had flown off the freeway and into the yard of a nearby business

Firefighters quickly began extrication of the two patients in the vehicle .

Firefighters were able to remove the driver and quickly transport him to a trauma center with major injuries .

Additional heavy extrication was needed to remove the passenger from the vehicle

The passenger was pronounced deceased on scene.

the cause of this crash is unknown at this time.

CHP is currently investigating the cause of this crash and has a hard closure in place for some lanes of the westbound 78.
