Vehicle Crashes Into House, Driver Flees | San Diego

10.03.2021 | 10:10 AM | Fire and Police responded to a report of a car that slammed into a house. When they arrived they found a car had hit an electrical junction box on the sidewalk and the car then went into a garage and into the home. The female suspect had fled. Residents pointed out the driver as she was one block away at Front st & Laurel St. The Police found a male with a female in a black pick-up and detained both of them. A female resident came out and told the Police that the male and female had been outside of her home and was using a “slim jim” (locksmith tool) to get into the blue car. After the male & female got in, he drove away. They were staying at an AirB&B next to the home that was hit. Approx 1 hour later, the female got into the car and then the accident occurred. One resident saw the suspect inside the garage and the male came from the AirB&B and walked into the garage and started screaming and acting animated. He attempted to back the car out and leave. The house has heavy damage inside and the garage door has been destroyed. Both the male and female appeared to be on some type of narcotics.
