Vehicle Ablaze After Crashing Into Building, 1 Dead 2 Injured

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to initial reports of a rollover crash with a vehicle on fire. Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle that crashed through multiple parked cars and into a mechanic shop. The vehicle burst into flames with one occupant still inside. According to police, the occupant inside the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene. 2 additional patients, 1 stable and 1 critical, were transported from the scene to a local trauma center. Police have established a hard closure for Greenway Road spanning from 28th Street to Waltann Lane. The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours as detectives investigate the incident.
