Vegetation Fire Grows To 54 Acres In Mead Valley

Firefighters were battling a rapidly growing vegetation fire Saturday afternoon in Mead Valley that had burned approximately 54 acres and was threatening structures.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department responded around 2 p.m. on October 4, 2026, to the area of Harford Park Lane following reports of a vegetation fire. Arriving crews initially found a couple of acres burning. The fire grew to approximately 10 acres with the potential to reach about 100 acres before officials later reported the blaze had reached 54 acres.
Several additional air and ground resources were requested as firefighters worked to slow the fire’s spread and protect nearby structures.
Structures were reported threatened. Information regarding evacuations, containment or damaged structures was not immediately available.
The fire remained active as crews continued working the incident.
