Van Nuys: Shooting Suspect Taken Into Custody After High-Speed Pursuit
02.09.2020 | 10:50 PM | LOS ANGELES – A shooting suspect was taken into custody after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit, Sunday night.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division Gang Unit attempted to stop a suspect in a Ford Mustang wanted in connection to a shooting in the Van Nuys area.
The suspect failed to yield to officers, prompting a high-speed pursuit that reached dangerously high speeds before the suspect fled into a residential area on foot.
A police helicopter pinpointed the suspect’s location in the backyard of a residence near the intersection of Woodley Avenue and Basset Street allowing officers to apprehend him without further incident.
The circumstances surrounding the reported shooting incident was not immediately available.
