Van Nuys: Officers Taze Man Armed With Wooden Stick (Caught On Camera)

03.04.2020 | 9:25 PM | LOS ANGELES – A man armed with a wooden stick who refused to comply with officers was tased, Wednesday night.

Officers attempted to stop a pedestrian walking on the southbound I-405 Freeway near Sherman Way in the Van Nuys area around 9:25 PM.

The suspect failed to stop for officers and picked up a stick before continuing off the freeway on to Sepulveda.

After multiple verbal commands to stop officers deployed a taser to subdue the man near Sepulveda and Leadwell Street.

The man fell to the ground but still resisted arrest before he could be contained.

It was unclear why the man refused to comply.

Firefighter paramedics responded to treat the man for injuries suffered during the taser deployment.
