Valencia: Crash Lodges Car Under Big Rig Trailer

12.18.2018 | 10:20 PM | VALENCIA – A person was cut free after lodging their car underneath the trailer of a big rig, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a crash involving a big rig on the southbound I-5 freeway near Magic Mountain Parkway around 10:20 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a sedan that had crashed into the trailer of a big rig, lodging the vehicle underneath.

One person was trapped in the wreckage, prompting firefighters to use the jaws of life to free the trapped passenger.

Once freed the patient was transported to an area trauma center for treatment. The driver of the big rig was uninjured.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
