Undercover CHP Operation Ends in With A Pursuit Crash

10.21.2020 | 8:39 AM | SAN DIEGO – Undercover CHP officers spotted a stolen vehicle in the San Ysidro area and followed the car into National City. Once in National City, a “Hot Stop” was conducted by a uniformed CHP at Highland Ave & 2nd St.

The male driver was cooperating at fist and then sped away at a high rate of speed northbound on Highland Ave and onto S. 43rd St in San Diego. The suspect made a left turn onto Epsilon St. and hit a parked car, and went up on the sidewalk, hitting a street sign.

The suspect got back onto Epsilon St and fled westbound until attempting to turn left at Acacia St. The driver hit a telephone phone and spun hitting a street sign before crashing through a fence and ending up in the front yard of a residence. The street names sign ended up in the front walkway to the house.

The suspect got out of the car and fled on foot. A search of the area was conducted, but the suspect was not found, but his personal belongings were left in the car.
