Two Women Hospitalized After Vehicle Crashes Into House

DETAILS:
- A female driver was attempting to park her vehicle along the street of Annmar Dr. when she accidentally mistook the accelerator for the brake.
- The woman’s vehicle went up the sidewalk, went through a backyard fence, and struck the side of a two-story home.
- The woman and her female passenger were injured in the crash.
- The female driver was able to get out of the vehicle but her passenger was unable to exit the SUV.
- Firefighters arrived and managed to stabilize the vehicle before extricating the passenger.
- Both women were transported to a local hospital for their injuries.
- Firefighters deemed the residence unsafe and “Red-tagged”. The Red-Cross is assisting the family with a hotel while a structural engineer inspects the residence.
- The female driver is not believed to be under the influence.
- There was significant damage to the inside of the residence. The home was also flooded a the SUV struck the water meter to the house.
