Two People Shot Outside Leimert Park Apartment

Two people were hospitalized following a shooting outside an apartment building in the Leimert Park area early Sunday morning.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. on August 23, 2026, officers responded to the area of 7th Avenue and 48th Street following reports of two people shot.

A male and possible female victim were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims was reportedly shot in the arm, while it was unclear where the second victim was wounded. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Officers could be seen investigating a vehicle at the scene as they searched for evidence.

A neighbor who did not want to appear on camera said she witnessed the incident and reported seeing two women arguing with a group of people shortly before hearing gunshots.
