Two Pedestrians Struck & Critically Injured on Sidewalk

DETAILS:
- Two men were critically injured after a sedan hopped the curb and struck them as they were walking on the sidewalk Wednesday morning
- La Habra Police and LACoFD Paramedics responded to the west sidewalk of Idaho Street just below the Fullerton/La Habra city line for a reported vehicle versus pedestrian crash.
- Arriving, they located two males down on the sidewalk suffering major injuries after being struck by a silver sedan that was traveling south on Idaho Street toward Fullerton
- According to neighbors, the two were retired and from the neighborhood immediately to the west of Idaho Street on a morning walk.
- The driver allegedly “blacked out” and scraped the driver’s side of her sedan as she jumped the curb and brushed against a light pole before striking both victims into a wall. She then rolled backward before proceeding forward to jump the curb again.
- Both were rushed to nearby trauma centers with critical injuries. The extent of their injuries is unclear.
- The female driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police. She initially requested medical care; however, she was later denied transport.
- All southbound lanes of Idaho Street are closed just past the Target shopping center (Imperial Highway)
