Two Pedestrians Killed In North Hollywood DUI Crash

At approximately 2:25 a.m. on April 12, 2026, a suspected DUI crash in North Hollywood left two pedestrians dead.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Vidal Cruz Jr. was driving a gray Acura northbound on Colfax Avenue, north of Calvert Street, when he struck a man in his 30s and a woman in her 50s who had just exited a parked white Toyota Camry.

The impact also caused the Acura to collide with the Camry, which still had three occupants inside, before continuing into a driveway and striking multiple parked vehicles. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the female victim later died at a hospital. The occupants inside the Camry suffered minor injuries.

Investigators determined the driver was allegedly traveling at an unsafe speed and under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was taken into custody and later booked on suspicion of two counts of murder, with bail set at $4 million.
