Two Men Miraculously Survive Plane Crash

DETAILS:

1. Heartland Fire-Rescue received multiple calls of a downed plane in a canyon behind a church on the 5700 block of Lake Murray Blvd.
2. When crews arrived they found a single-engine aircraft that crashed 50 feet down a canyon occupied by 2 male adults.
3. The plane took down power lines as it went down.
4. It took 40 minutes to extricate both the pilot and co-pilot from the canyon and were transported to Sharp Grossmont with moderate injuries.
5. The FAA is en route to investigate the crash.
6. A witness stated seeing the plane flying low before nearly hitting the top of the church before nose-diving into the canyon.
