The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his thirties with short hair and a full beard wearing dark clothing. The suspect then entered a white 2012 Kia Forte belonging to one of the victims. Once in the car, the man realized there was a female in the backseat. He ordered her out of the car and fled in the Kia.

On September 15, 2024, the Kia was located in the Los Angeles area occupied by a man matching the above description. Thanks to the assistance of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office, the man was taken into custody without incident in the 1000 block of San Gabriel Blvd in Rosemead, California. He has been
booked into San Diego County Jail on two counts of murder, one count of carjacking, and one count of robbery. The suspect has been identified as 23-year-old Guillermo David Gonzalez of National City. Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident, including processing the scene for physical
evidence, attempting to locate and interview witnesses, and canvassing the area for surveillance footage.

The first victim, a 28-year-old Hispanic male, was determined to be dead at the scene. He has been identified as Osnaider Silveira. Silveira was initially identified as being 18 years old, but this was incorrect. The second victim, a 23-year- old Hispanic male, was transported to a local hospital but did not survive.
