Two Killed In Metro Bus Crash In Chatsworth

At least two people were killed and multiple others were injured Monday evening after an SUV and Metro bus collided at an intersection in Chatsworth.

The crash was reported around 5:03 p.m. on September 15, 2026, at Nordhoff Street and De Soto Avenue.

Preliminary information indicated at least two people believed to have been passengers on the bus were killed in the collision. Multiple additional injuries were also reported.

The driver of the SUV was believed to have been transported by ambulance, though their condition was not immediately available.

Footage from the scene showed grieving family members gathered near the crash site as investigators worked at the intersection. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner was also seen removing a victim from the bus.

The crash was the incident an NBC Los Angeles helicopter was covering when the helicopter later went down and crashed nearby.

The circumstances leading up to the collision remained under investigation.
