Two Killed After Vehicle Crashes Over Center-Divider

LOCATION: EB 10 East of Pepper Ave
AREA/CITY: Colton
DETAILS:

  1. On January 17th, 2025, at 6:11 PM, CHP, Colton Fire, and AMR responded to a reported traffic collision on the Eastbound 10 Freeway, East of Pepper Avenue in Colton.
  2. Units located a multi-vehicle traffic collision with two people trapped.
  3. It is believed that one of the vehicles came from the westbound side and went over the center divider.
  4. At least two people were pronounced deceased at the scene.
  5. It’s unknown how many parties were transported.
  6. CHP issued a SigAlert for an unknown duration as all lanes were closed due to the collision.
  7. Colton Fire was requested back to the scene to extricate the two fatalities.
  8. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
  9. This collision caused a significant traffic jam, backing to Fontana.
