Two Killed After Car Wraps Around Pole In Rancho Cucamonga

At approximately 9:46 p.m. on May 28, 2026, deputies, firefighters, and paramedics responded to a major traffic collision at Fourth Street and Buffalo Avenue on the border of Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario.

Responding crews located a two-vehicle crash with one vehicle wrapped around a traffic light pole and occupants trapped inside.

Firefighters worked to extricate the victims from the heavily damaged vehicle, but both occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities said the second vehicle may have been occupied by as many as two people, though it was unclear whether those occupants were transported to a hospital or declined medical treatment.

The collision occurred on the north side of the intersection, placing the investigation under the jurisdiction of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours documenting evidence and determining what led to the fatal crash.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
