Two Dead Following Deputy-Involved Shooting In Bellflower

Two people were pronounced dead Sunday afternoon following a deputy-involved shooting inside a Bellflower home, where deputies responding to a suspicious circumstances call encountered an armed individual.
The incident occurred around 12:59 p.m. on September 27, 2026, at a residence in the 9500 block of Maplewood Street, near Rosecrans Avenue and Bellflower Boulevard.
According to preliminary information, a neighbor called 911 after seeing someone lying face down inside a nearby home under unknown circumstances.
Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lakewood Station responded and entered the residence, where they discovered one person who was already deceased.
While inside the home, deputies encountered another individual armed with a firearm. A deputy-involved shooting occurred, and the armed individual was fatally shot.
Paramedics responded and pronounced both individuals dead inside the residence.
A neighbor, Taylor White, who was standing on her front porch at the time, described hearing gunshots and witnessing the commotion that followed.
Authorities established a large crime scene around the residence as investigators began processing evidence.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau is investigating the circumstances surrounding both deaths and the deputy-involved shooting. The identities of the deceased individuals and their relationship, if any, had not been released.
