Two Children & One Adult Injured in Serious Crash On I-10 | Phoenix
04.10.2022 | 5:00 AM | PHOENIX – AZ DPS troopers and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a collision with injuries on Westbound i-10 near 7th Street around 5:00 AM Sunday morning.
Troopers arrived to find a multi-vehicle wreck blocking all lanes.
According to DPS Sergeant B. Kudler, a 2 vehicle collision occurred in the Westbound lanes involving a white SUV and a grey SUV.
The driver of the white SUV exited the vehicle to check on their 2 children.
That is when a secondary collision occurred involving a white Lexus. The Lexus struck the white SUV and the driver of said white SUV.
Fire crews arrived on scene and transported 2 child and the adult driver of the white SUV to a local trauma center.
Their condition is unknown at this time however DPS has confirmed that no fatalities have been reported. A male involved in the collision was taken into custody.
DPS cannot confirm DUI at this time however impairment has not been ruled out. Westbound lanes of i-10 were shut down from the SR51 to 16th Street for about an hour while troopers investigated the incident.
