Two Children Confirmed Dead After Being Swept Away In River

DETAILS:
- Two Children, age 4 and age 2, were found unconscious and unresponsive, with first responders performing CPR after being reportedly swept away down the river and missing for close to two hours.
- At around 3:45, first responders were dispatched to a swift water rescue incident on Highway 38 near Mountain Home Village.
- First responders arrived on scene and and were informed that two children, age 4 & 2 had gone missing after reportedly being swept away down stream.
- County Fire, Forest Service, and Cal-Fire launched a joint search mission to locate the children.
- After over an hour’s search, the 4-year-old child was found downstream and was confirmed to be unconscious and unresponsive, with CPR being performed by firefighters.
- About 30 minutes later, the other child was found further downstream and was also confirmed to be unconscious and unresponsive with CPR in Progress.
- Both Children were transported to separate nearby hospitals with active CPR being performed.
- It has been confirmed by law enforcement that both children have been confirmed to be deceased.
