Two Children Confirmed Dead After Being Swept Away In River

AREA/CITY:  Mountain Home Village
DETAILS:

  1. Two Children, age 4 and age 2, were found unconscious and unresponsive, with first responders performing CPR after being reportedly swept away down the river and missing for close to two hours.
  2. At around 3:45, first responders were dispatched to a swift water rescue incident on Highway 38 near Mountain Home Village.
  3. First responders arrived on scene and and were informed that two children, age 4 & 2 had gone missing after reportedly being swept away down stream.
  4. County Fire, Forest Service, and Cal-Fire launched a joint search mission to locate the children.
  5. After over an hour’s search, the 4-year-old child was found downstream and was confirmed to be unconscious and unresponsive, with CPR being performed by firefighters.
  6. About 30 minutes later, the other child was found further downstream and was also confirmed to be unconscious and unresponsive with CPR in Progress.
  7. Both Children were transported to separate nearby hospitals with active CPR being performed.
  8. It has been confirmed by law enforcement that both children have been confirmed to be deceased.
  9. No further details are known.
