Truck Catches Fire After Crash Killing Passenger

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 5-9-25 | ~10 p.m.
LOCATION: 3000 Eastex Freeway (Northbound) @ Green Street
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

EMS arrived to find a pickup truck on fire with both the driver and a passenger inside the vehicle.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

The passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation suggests the vehicle lost control, struck the shoulder wall, and caught fire.

The identity of the deceased passenger has not yet been confirmed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
