Tragic Sepulveda Boulevard Collision Claims One Life

  1. One person has reportedly perished.
  2. LAFD ALERT: PRELIM: Two-vehicle collision with a total of 5 patients (unknown age/gender/affiliation/circumstances). Two of the patients were badly trapped in the wreckage – one in each passenger vehicle, before being freed by LAFD responders. They were both taken by LAFD Paramedics to a regional trauma center in grave condition. A third patient from one of the vehicles, who was not trapped, was taken to an area hospital in serious condition. Two Good Samaritans (not involved in the collision), who attempted to free the trapped patients prior to LAFD’s arrival, declined treatment for minor injuries. Road closure: All lanes of northbound and southbound Sepulveda Boulevard will remain closed until LAPD operations are complete, unknown duration. Motorists, expect congestion and delay, avoid the immediate area, and consider an alternate route. Detours are readily available. Monitor traffic reports on news radio.
