Tragic Car Collision in Phoenix – Fatal Accident on 35th Ave & Lower Buckeye Rd

Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a serious vehicle collision at the intersection of 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 4:30 AM
Crews arrived to find a collision involving a black sedan and a white GMC SUV.
Crews found one adult male trapped inside the black sedan, he was pronounced deceased on the scene a short time later.
The unidentified driver of the white SUV was transported to a local trauma center in unknown condition.
A second crash occurred north of the scene on 35th Avenue between Lower Buckeye Road and Durango Street at the same time as the fatal collision.
Details surrounding that crash are unknown however officers on the scene did state they do not believe they are connected.
35th Avenue is closed between Durango Street and Lower Buckeye Road.
The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours.
