Traffic Investigation After Hydrant Sheared in Downtown Los Angeles

12.05.2020 | 3:05 AM | LOS ANGELES – Traffic investigators are conducting a thorough investigation after a car struck a hydrant, leaving one person fatally injured.

Authorities from the Los Angeles Fire Department and LAPD responded to the 400 Block of S Wall Street shortly after 3 AM regarding the crash.

LAPD arrived to find a Black Toyota that had crashed into the hydrant with one occupant still inside.

LAFD Paramedics were able to pull the patient out, however the injuries proved too severe and they declared the occupant deceased at the scene.

The intersection of 5th and Wall remained closed for an extended period of time as investigators continued their investigation.
